Zinc is used in skin care as UV protection and for the treatment of wounds and irritations, as well as for acne and rosacea. Zinc oxide is a mineral UV filter that forms a protective layer on the skin's surface and reflects the sun's rays, preventing them from penetrating the skin. Unlike titanium dioxide, it protects against UVA and UVB rays and is also ideal for very sensitive skin. Furthermore, zinc regulates the production of sebum and slows down the spread of acne bacteria, is anti-inflammatory and promotes wound healing.
